This fall, the Centre for Missional Leadership will be offering a three-year Certificate in Missional Leadership focused on forming and reforming Christ-following communities in a secular age, led by Rev. Dr. Tim Dickau.
This new program will face the realities of a changing society head-on by viewing them as an opportunity to discover anew how to take up your vocation as a follower of Jesus in new and creative ways. This course will explore how to engage and participate in the transformation of neighbourhoods by seeking justice and shalom through creative responses in housing, through reconciliation with Indigenous peoples, and through the development of local economies. Towards the end of the course, participants will explore discipleship and evangelism within this framework, learning how to take up these missional practices in more communal and creative ways.
The first year will explore missional foundations and will consist of six sessions over seven months covering the following topics:
- Rediscovering and engaging in your neighbourhood
- Forming thicker and more porous communities
- Churches fostering affordable housing
- Taking steps towards justice and shalom
- Forming and empowering leaders
- Making disciples
Cost (Year One)
Most of the costs will be offset by the Centre for Missional Leadership, as they want to lower the obstacles that would keep people from participating.
- $600 for a group of up to five people
