    Dave Hearn

    President, C&MA

Rev. David Hearn's passion is to see The Christian and Missionary Alliance in Canada as a Christ-centred, Spirit-empowered, and Mission-focused movement. A.B. Simpson declared, "This movement stands for a spirit of self-sacrifice, adjustment, adaptation and single-hearted love for people. We are called to a spirit so possessed with one supreme object, to gain men and women for Christ, that it sweeps over every other consideration in its overmastering purpose of love." David Hearn grew up in a godly home. In his early teens, he was confronted in a powerful way to move away from his concern with image and walk towards intimacy with God. Dave surrendered his life to Jesus and was filled with an overwhelming sense of joy. As he became a passionate follower of Jesus, he began to sense a call into church ministry. His calling was confirmed at Canadian Bible College, where he met his wife Agnes. David and Agnes have been married for over 30 years and have three daughters, two son-in-laws, and three grandchildren. They entered into their first ministry in Ontario. From 1984 to 1997, David was Senior Pastor at Bramalea Alliance Church in Brampton, Ontario. David then attended Regent College in Vancouver and received a Masters of Divinity degree. While living in British Columbia, Dave served as Lead Pastor at Lake Country Alliance in Winfield and then as Assistant District Superintendent in the Canadian Pacific District. David has also served on the national Board of Directors (1994–2000) and on District Executive Committees in the Canadian Pacific District and Eastern and Central Canadian Districts.

    Michelle Derksen

Michelle Derksen, along with her husband Murray, have been international workers with the C&MA for 27 years. They have lived and served in various countries and continents and presently have the privilege to serve as the Regional Developers for Latin America and the Caribbean (Caribbean Sun) Region. They have 4 adult children. She has seen how often conflict can derail ministry and relationships. That propelled her to do more training, and Michelle graduated from the Justice Institute of BC in December 2017 with her Certification in Conflict Resolution and Third Party Mediation, Associate Certificate in Conflict Coaching, and Associate Certificate in Leadership and Conflict Resolution. She is so thankful for this training and is passionate about helping others learn skills so that they can navigate through conflict and have healthy and productive conversations that benefit each person involved.
