What is the Global Alpha Campaign?
A Joint Church Invitation to Canadians
In the fall of 2016, churches in countries, cities and towns around the world will invite their communities to explore life, faith and God in conjunction with a global advertising
campaign initiated by Alpha. Our goal is to creatively capture the interest of Canadians and help local churches create a space to see lives transformed.
Featuring Bear Grylls
Bear is known as the face of outdoor survival and adventure. With 1.5 billion fans worldwide, he is recognized from New York to New Delhi. He will be sharing his journey to faith on Alpha in a way that the world has never seen before. He has kindly gifted Alpha with the use of his image and story for the campaign over 12 months starting September 1, 2016.

Reaching Millions Worldwide
Alpha has been an evangelistic tool for churches across a wide spread of denominations, contexts and cultures. 27 million people have experienced Alpha globally, including over 640,000 in Canada. Thousands of lives continue to be transformed through Canadian churches who continue to create a space like Alpha where guests can explore their questions and begin a journey to discover Jesus.
New Alpha Film Series Launching
2016 is going to be a revolutionary year to communicate the Good News of Jesus Christ. Alpha has built new tools to help the local church in its mission of engaging those outside the church – the 2016 Global Advertising Campaign and a new documentary-style Alpha Film Series that journeys through the themes of knowing and following Christ in a relevant and engaging format for the next generation. This is all being launched through a church-led invitation initiative to Canadians for the broadest possible impact.
How Will it Work in Canada?
Locally Led, Locally Funded
The tools are timely and relevant for Canadians but only local churches have the infrastructure and community presence to mobilize their congregations and engage their neighbours. Congregational leaders in each region will decide the scope and involvement that will be most effective to serve their communities. Based on the vision they have for their region, they will choose the level of advertising delivery that fits the budget and that is in line with what the local participating churches can afford to fund.
