As of July 26th, the postage paid envelopes from Statistics Canada will no longer be delivered by Canada Post and must be destroyed or recycled immediately. If you have any postage paid envelopes with “For Vital Statistics use only” in the top left corner of the envelope, please destroy or recycle them and do not submit any wedding or marriage documents in these envelopes in the mail. An image of the envelopes to be destroyed or recycled is below.
You will still be able to use postage envelopes that have no markings in the top left corner to return any marriage documents after the ceremony to Vital Statistics.
If you need to order Vital Statistics postage paid envelopes, please email the Agency’s stockroom at hlth.vsstock@gov.bc.ca.
As always, please feel free to contact Erin Knott for information about permanent and temporary clergy permits. If you do not hold a permanent clergy number and would like to apply for a temporary clergy permit, information about how to do that is always available on our website here.
