Pacific Community Church – Administrator Manager

Posted: November 18, 2019

Pacific Community Church needs a person who likes to make and keep things happening. They know what it takes to bring the pieces together to create a great event or a functional process. They have varied skills but a primary one is to help a team accomplish its work by expertly addressing the details with a smile and genuine enthusiasm. They intuitively know that great ideas often fail because many dismiss the importance of the little things – like a thank-you to a volunteer, making the phone call to the grumpy vendor, setting the agenda to help a team get organized, overseeing a project with multiple deadlines, facilitating a contract for the new photocopier, and whatever else that contributes to a typical busy ministry of activity.

Your favourite Bible verse may include 1 Corinthians 14:40 where Paul says, “But all things should be done decently and in order.” This doesn’t mean we have to join the military but that good ministry and leadership are embedded in a healthy organizational life where confusion and disorder (common reality) is addressed by good practice and simple solutions.

You will need to be a problem solver because that is what administrators do. Good ones even act before many problems happen. They ensure that the normal and everyday activities that need to get done by everybody are made easy so that the big responsibilities are given the best amount of time.

You know your way around computers, church management software, Excel, and other leading office software. You know it enough that you can help the less inclined to do it right and make sure they do it right.

Most importantly, you will need to be a team player who knows how to be all you are administratively with a team that will depend on your capacity and your healthy directness. We recognize that all of us need to be administratively adequate but we need a champion who will make us better servants who deeply desire to maximize our giftedness for the sake of God’s work in the world.
