The Peace Portal Alliance Chinese Congregation (PPACC) was borne out of Peace Portal Alliance Church’s Chinese Ministry, which was inaugurated by the vision of the leaders in 2009. In past years, we have faced unsteady church attendance. The majority of our congregants frequently travel back to China, where they have businesses and jobs as well as inseparable family ties, and this is a real issue that PPACC continues to face even today.
Despite these setbacks, we still plowed forward with faith, believing that everything is in God’s hands. Through personal evangelism, invitations to evangelistic meetings, and various outreach events, 58 brothers and sisters were brought to Christ in the past two and a half years. Praise the Lord! Since January of this year, 34 brothers and sisters were led to Christ, 11 of which are youth. Our congregation now numbers in the 80s compared to roughly 30 attendees two and half years ago.
We have also seen God at work in our small group ministries. Two new ministries have been developed to meet the increasing needs of congregants. Our Timothy Youth Fellowship was established in April 2015 and a Friday children’s program was started a few months ago in July.
At PPACC we strive to model Jesus’ holistic ministry of body, mind, and spirit. Jesus taught his disciples and preached the gospel while addressing human needs through feeding, healing, and casting out demons. Therefore, we embrace this biblical model in extending hospitality and caring through visitations of congregant’s homes and of those who are hospitalized. We hope to continue our focus on evangelism and discipleship and would like to thank Peace Portal Alliance Church for their generous support. Our ultimate goal is to disciple God’s people and reach out to even more Chinese residents in White Rock and South Surrey for His Kingdom and glory!
