The Canadian Bible Society is one of Canada’s longest-serving NGOs and has been active in Canada since 1802, and here in B.C. since 1858! Today, the Canadian Bible Society is here to support churches in their work of helping people hear God speak through the Scriptures. The Canadian Bible Society continues to translate the Bible and right now their focus is on the living, Indigenous languages of Canada. They also distribute the Bible through their national projects and help churches and individuals to engage the Scriptures, encountering the Living Word, Jesus Christ.

The Bible Course
More recently, the British Bible Society developed The Bible Course to provide a compelling overview of the big story of the Bible. They’ve updated this 8-session course for the Canadian context and it’s now ready for use by pastors and leaders. This course is a great tool for churches to stay connected during the COVID crisis, but also for its applicability to so many contexts where people want to dig deeper into the Biblical story. It can be offered in a range of formats – including fully online. The Bible Course is a natural follow-up to Alpha and a preview of the first session can be found here.
