Vancouver Chinese Alliance Church is the first Chinese Alliance church in Western Canada and has been blessed by God in many areas of ministry for over 55 years. Our church is a vibrant trilingual and multi-generational family that includes English, Cantonese, and Mandarin congregations striving towards being “Unified in Christ for the Mission of God.” Sunday worship attendance amounts to about 700 people altogether. The current pastoral team consists of six full-time staff.
Currently, we are looking for an energetic and inspiring person who has an intimate relationship with Christ and a heart to lead young people to God through evangelism and discipleship.
Areas of Responsibilities
The primary role of this position is to carry out evangelism and provide spiritual leadership to young people from high school students to college young adults. The pastor must integrate their ministry vision and emphasis into the church’s existing programs, which include weekly activities such as fellowships, small group programs, Sunday School, and teens worship, as well as annual events such as teen’s summer camp, church retreats, sports ministry, Alpha Course, and youth rallies. The pastor is also encouraged to develop new programs and campus ministries.
The position also requires the pastor to recruit, equip, and lead a network of servant-leaders who serve in the youth ministries. Our volunteer leaders range from teenagers to adults. The pastor will be required to maintain healthy communication with young people and their families and partner with all pastors to ensure that young people’s spiritual needs are met.
In accordance with Canadian employment standards, preference will be given to candidates who are either Canadian citizens or landed immigrants. A criminal record check is required.
The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor or higher degree from an accredited seminary school and meet the Canadian Christian and Missionary Alliance licensing requirements. The candidate should also demonstrate strong administrative skills and possess a passion for God and His people in the setting of a multicultural Chinese-English church community.
