Glucose Monitoring Systems

Effective January 1, 2019, RWAM will provide coverage for glucose monitoring systems under the Extended Health Care (EHC) benefit plan.

RWAM is pleased to support patient care as technology evolves. Glucose monitoring systems include a reader device and sensors which are used to measure glucose levels and provide results immediately.

Glucose monitoring systems (GMS) will be eligible based on the following parameters:

  • Individuals must be insulin dependent
  • All claims must be submitted for reimbursement under the EHC benefit
  • Limited to a combined annual maximum of $3,000 for GMS devices and sensors
