I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. 3 John 1:2 (NIV)
Oh no!! I have a mole in my yard…that nasty critter is destroying my YARD!!
They sneak around in the night and dig long tunnels under my grass and eat grubs and cause large mounds of dirt in my pristine lawn. I have tried almost everything to get rid of them, but to no avail…grrrr!
Soul Care is kind of like Mole Care. If we don’t deal with the issues under the surface in a timely manner, we soon discover mounds of unsightly junk being pushed to the surface of our lives.
Over the past five years, we have tried to heighten the awareness for personal soul care in all of our District pastor’s lives and we continue to do so with deep conviction. An unhealthy soul will produce an unhealthy ministry.
What have we designed to assist you in your personal journey?
- One to One Retreats – these 24-hour reflective times are designed to teach good spiritual discipline principles of soul formation and then give you time to practice them so that they become a part of your regular practice.
- Church Renewal Conferences – although we do not produce these conferences, we encourage our pastors to attend a renewal conference in Steinbach, MB where you have opportunity to deal with past issues and sins and find freedom. You also learn to listen to the Lord in a deeper way.
- Deeper work of the Spirit (design in process) – This year at our annual District Staff Retreat, we will experience a deeper work of the Holy Spirit in our daily lives. Our guest speaker, Sandy Isfeld, will take three sessions and walk us through his journey of discovery and eventual implementation of key principles of the work of the Holy Spirit. We would love you to join us this year!!
- Annual District Staff Retreat in Whistler – this retreat is designed for personal renewal, reflection, and rest. Guest speakers are brought in to build, nurture, and refresh our lives as we daily serve the body of Christ.
Along with these experiences, we continuously mentor and come alongside you to assist where we can in your journey as a pastor.
Each one of us is responsible for our own soul journey with Christ, but the reality is that none of us can do this alone and we need each other.
How is your Soul Care today?
