New District Partners for Board Leadership Training
Part of my role as Assistant District Superintendent is having the privilege to work with Elder Boards across our district. Having the privilege to coach and support them as they lean into the call that God has placed on their lives as leaders in their local church brings me great joy. I am passionate about seeing boards becoming healthier and, in turn, watch their churches become healthier as well. As we are all aware, the context in which we lead is becoming increasingly complex. The CPD Board Leadership Training Module is consistently being adapted to meet the needs of boards in this ever-changing landscape. In any given year, I train 15-20 boards across all regions of our district. Many are reaching out on a regular basis to bring new board members up to speed as well as refamiliarize their team with who we are in The Alliance Canada.
As a district leadership team, we are passionate about raising up leaders to partner with in our district. I am pleased to announce that Grant McDowell (Lead Pastor at Cranbrook Alliance Church), Dave Driedger (Lead Pastor at Lakewood Alliance Church), and Stephen Foster (Leadership Coach/Consultant at Kingdombuilding.ca) have become district partners in the delivery of the Board Leadership Training Module. Dave will be delivering content in our Northern region, Grant in the Kootenays, and Stephen will cover the island and other locations, as needed. Mark, Genghis, and I will continue to support the Lower Mainland. From time to time, our partners will be reaching out to your leadership teams, inviting them to an upcoming training module which they will be facilitating. They also are a resource for your Elders Board and senior leadership in governance and board development.
I would encourage you to reach out to them with questions you may have. You can also reach out directly to the District Office. We are pleased to walk with you as well in this important area of leadership.
